Q. 1. What is your minimum order quantity or minimum charge?
A. Pricing is based on any quantity required. Setup and raw material charges have a greater piece price impact at lower quantities.
Q. 2. Do you provide design assistance?
A. Design assistance and improvement recommendations (when appropriate) are provided based on receiving necessary, basic information such as your name, company name and pertinent design parameters. We have the ability to work from blueprints, design sheets, detailed sketches and sample parts.
Q. 3. What are your quality certifications?
A. Our plants are third-party certified to ISO9001/9002, QS9000/TS16949 or AS9100, depending on the markets serviced.
Q. 4. Do you provide stock items and/or catalogs?
A. A separate division of our company (Associated Spring-Raymond) provides stock parts and catalogs. Our sales representatives can assist you by phone or in person as needed.
Q. 5. What types of parts do you manufacture?
A. Round or shaped wire: Compression, torsion, extension, wire forms, snap and retaining rings, garter springs. Flat strip: Stampings, all types of washers, power springs, brush springs, and accordion springs. We also offer specialty assemblies and special packaging if required.
Q. 6. What types of in-house and outside processing do you do?
A. Our facilities have a variety of in-house capabilities including: coiling, grinding, harden & temper, heat setting, shot peening, stress relieving, testing, some plating and passivating. Many heat treat and special finishes are contracted to approved outside vendors, including customer required sources (i.e. QS-9000, AS-9100, TS16949 NADCAP approved companies).
Q. 7. What kinds of raw materials do you use in manufacturing?
A. Music wire (both standard and preplated), all grades of stainless steel, oil tempered, hard drawn, various grades of chrome vanadium and chrome silicon, and tempered and annealed carbon strip. Less common materials such as beryllium copper, phosphor bronze, and brass are also used. We also work with a variety of exotic metals such as: titanium, inconel, monel, molybdenum, hastelloy, elgiloy, nimonic 90, MP-35N, and gold alloy.
